 Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati Mortgage / Lending SummaryThe Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati (FHLBank) is a triple-A rated cooperative wholesale bank providing a variety of quality financial services to member institutions in Kentucky, Ohio, and Tennessee. The Cincinnati FHLBank is part of the nationwide Federal Home Loan Bank System created by the U.S. Congress in 1932. More than 100 credit unions are members of the Cincinnati FHLBank. DescriptionThe FHLBank provides a variety of business activities and services designed to address the financial, housing, and asset/liability needs of its member institutions. Our primary activity is making readily-available, competitively priced, and fully-collateralized loans, referred to as Advances. Advances are available in various terms, maturities, and structures to address the numerous funding needs of members. We also purchase from our members fixed-rate, fully amortizing, conventional and FHA residential mortgages through the Mortgage Purchase Program. Also, the FHLBank sets aside 10 percent of net earnings annually for the congressionally-established Affordable Housing Program.
